The trip to Anaktuvuk Pass will take you across the Yukon River, north of the ARCTIC CIRCLE, past the tree line and to the northern edge of the majestic BROOKS RANGE mountains.
Visit the people of this inland Eskimo village. When available enjoy a pilot conducted tour of the school, the SIMON PANEAK MUSEUM, and store, where souvenirs, such as caribou hide masks, can be purchased.
Flying north you will see the ALASKA PIPELINE and the Dalton Highway, which is now open to the public north to the oilfields at Prudhoe Bay. You will fly over the Yukon River Bridge and the beautiful Gates of the Arctic National Park area. This mail flight may stop at the villages of Bettles and/or Allakaket, and, if weather allows, will follow the scenic John River through the Brooks Range between Bettles and Anaktuvuk Pass.
When you arrive back in
Fairbanks you will receive your Arctic Circle Certificate signed
by your pilot.
