You are about to experience an incredible
flightseeing journey over the roadless interior Alaska wilderness and north across the ARCTIC
CIRCLE!
Flying north you will get a
beautiful view of the city of Fairbanks and the Fox gold mining area. Your flight will
take you over the ALASKA PIPELINE, Pump Station #7, and the Livengood Gold Mine. After
entering the Yukon Flats area you will fly north of the Yukon River and over the village
of Beaver.
The Yukon Flats is a vast wetland area with
more than 40,000 lakes. It is bounded on the north by the Brooks Range mountains and on
the south by the White mountains. It supports a wide variety of vegetation and is
excellent wildlife habitat. It is one of largest waterfowl breeding areas in North America
and is home to moose, black and grizzly bear, beaver and fox.
Your flight will turn due north and you will
CROSS THE ARCTIC CIRCLE. Then your
flight turns to the southeast to Mt. Schwatka, a summer breeding ground for Dall Sheep and
follow Beaver Creek through the White mountains where you will enjoy magnificent alpine
vistas.
When you arrive back
in Fairbanks you will receive your Arctic Circle Certificate signed
by your pilot.
